Why no Wiki? What does it mean for adult learners?

Love it or loathe it, the user-generated online encyclopaedia Wikipedia – which is now regularly used by millions as a first-stop-shop for information – has today decided to close access to all of its English-language pages for 24 hours.

This protest is part of a bigger debate about access to information and learning activities. The National Institute for Adult Continuing Education is active in the debate because adult learners not only seek content online but increasingly are creator of content themselves.
